Geologically similar to the Athabasca

U3O8 Corp’s exploration strategy is focused on the Roraima Basin in Guyana given its geological similarity to the Athabasca Basin in size, age, composition and nature of the basement rocks.

Uranium deposits in proximity to the Athabasca Basin occur in two principal locations termed basement-hosted, structurally-controlled mineralization and unconformity-related deposits. The Beaverlodge district, which lies adjacent to the Athabasca Basin is a classic example of basement-hosted uranium and contains ~57 million pounds of uranium (U3O8) at an average grade of 0.165%. Unconformity uranium deposits contain about one third of the world’s uranium reserves. Cigar Lake in the Athabasca is an example of an unconformity-style deposit, which contains 285 million pounds of U3O8 at an average grade of 15%.

U3O8 Corp. has exclusive permitting rights to approximately one million hectares in the Roraima Basin, which include known basement-hosted uranium discoveries made by Areva in the early 1980’s. We have been able to advance exploration in order to achieve early returns for basement-type uranium while exploring the possibility for significant unconformity-related deposits in the Roraima Basin.
