Unconformity uranium deposits are small, high grade ore bodies, which are extremely difficult to find. Therefore, we are applying proven, cost-efficient techniques that focus our exploration on the most prospective parts of our one million hectare land package in Guyana. Through the analysis of archived core integrated with airbourne geophysical data, we have defined targets that share key geological and chemical characteristics commonly associated with Athabasca-type uranium – in terms of structure, alteration patterns and enrichment of pathfinder metals – which can help to narrow our exploration within kilometres of potential mineralization in the Roraima Basin in order to optimize the success of making a discovery.
We are refining and ranking our unconformity targets and expect to start scout drilling the most promising areas in 2010.
