Drillers in Aricheng exploration area
Although uranium at Aricheng Alpha is masked by up to fifty metres of soil, U3O8 Corp. was able to recognize the potential of that area purely through its geophysical characteristics. To hit good uranium mineralization in the first holes drilled in this new target bodes well for our ability to use geophysics to identify additional mineralized areas in the Kurupung uranium district.
Uranium mineralization at Aricheng Alpha lies within a zone of veinlets and breccias in the Kurupung Batholith. The veinlets and breccias are enclosed by a wider albite-chlorite-hematite-calcite alteration assemblage that is essentially non-magnetic. The mineralized sheet-like breccia zone strikes northeast and dips to the northwest at approximately 75º. Further drilling will be required to establish the width and plunge direction of the higher-grade mineralized shoot at Aricheng Alpha.
Drilling to date has delineated mineralization over a strike length of 200 metres and to about 200 metres below surface. Uranium grades increase along strike to the northeast. Mineralization remains open along strike and at depth.
Drill Hole Locations
A total of 1,613 metres in the first seven bore holes (Phase I scout drilling) have been completed to date on the Aricheng Alpha structure.
Map shows the location of Phase I drill holes at Aricheng Alpha. The collar position of each hole is shown as a dot and the extent of each inclined hole is shown as a black line. U3O8 grade (%) is shown as a histogram along the trace of the bore hole.
Long Section Phase I scout drilling at Aricheng Alpha to date has traced uranium mineralization over a strike length of 200 metres and remains open along strike, and to about 200 metres below surface and is open at depth. The mineralized sheet-like breccia zone strikes northeast and dips to the northwest at approximately 75º. Uranium grades increase along strike to the northeast. Further drilling will be required to establish the width and plunge direction of the higher-grade mineralized shoot.
A provisional long section of the Aricheng Alpha structure shows the distribution of grade-thickness values (the product of the width of the mineralized interval and its U
3O
8 grade in %) on a vertical projection of the structure. The coloured diamonds demarcate the pierce points on the structure. A pierce point is the approximate location at which each bore hold intersects the structure.
